Air Force ROTC

Students in Air Force ROTC have the opportunity to earn a commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force while earning a college degree. With the Columbus AFB nearby, each year the cadets get to meet officers and receive hands-on opportunities with simulators and demonstrations.

Army ROTC

Army ROTC provides students the opportunity to get a college education while training them to become an Army officer. The basic program is an elective course that only requires students to be full-time and a legal U.S. citizen. The advanced program is for third- and fourth-year students and stresses the military skills and knowledge required of commissioned officers. They also offer a simultaneous membership program that allows students to be both in the Guard and ROTC qualifying them for additional training, incentives, and benefits.

Career Center

The Career Center helps students develop skills that will prepare them for their future careers. It offers programs and workshops to help students negotiate job offers, improve their résumés, practice interviewing, explore career options and more! The Career Center hosts career fairs and interview days throughout the year for students to meet and interview with potential employers. Each fall and spring, the Bulldog Mentor Program connects current students with alumni mentors to gain insights, advice and connections about different industries and career paths.

Center for Academic Excellence

The Center for Academic Excellence aims to improve academic performance through support programs, workshops, tutoring services and academic coaching. It houses programs such as College Ready, Freshman Year Navigators, Supplemental Instruction, Center for Advising, First Year Experience Class and Bulldog Rebound.

Center for America’s Veterans

Center for America’s Veterans provides military-connected students with support, educational benefits, and activities to promote learning and success while at Mississippi State University. It offers military-connected students scholarships and other benefits to help them achieve their academic goals and provide them the opportunity to enhance their lives by obtaining a degree through MSU. The center, located in Nusz Hall, provides military-connected students individual study rooms, a computer lab, a lounge and many programming events.

Center for Student Activities

Mississippi State has a place for everyone to get involved on campus with over 300 diverse student organizations. The Center for Student Activities also houses larger organizations such as Music Maker Productions, New Maroon Camp and Bulldog Bash.

Colvard Student Union

Come visit us and see our eight large multi-purpose meeting rooms, 4 conference style rooms, the Fowlkes Auditorium, Art Gallery, as well as the Bill R. Foster Ballroom. You will also find multiple dining options (including a convenience store), a full service Starbucks and a hair salon in the Colvard Student Union.

Computer-Based Testing Services

Computer-Based Testing Services (CBT) administers national standardized examinations to assist students in their pursuit of educational and professional goals. CBT services also provide information for faculty and staff members who are assisting students in reaching the next level of academic success.

Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students office provides students with a place to get academic and personal support through their departments. Honor code, student conduct, parent and family services, and off-campus student services are all located here. This office also houses the care and concern team, which is equipped with professionals dedicated to the well-being of students. The Dean of Students office provides students with resources for food security. Bully’s Pantry is an on-campus initiative that helps provide students with nutritious food and other basic needs.

Dining Services

Mississippi State University has two buffet-style dining halls with diverse cuisine options, Marketplace at Perry and Fresh Food Company. If you’re in a hurry, Provisions on Demand locations across campus offer grab-n-go lunches, snacks, paper goods and other necessities. Students also have a wide variety of restaurants on campus, such as Bento Sushi, Steak ‘n Shake, Subway, Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Einstein Brothers Bagels, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Newk’s, and Moe’s Southwest Grill, and local favorites like State Fountain Bakery.

Disability Resource Center

The Disability Resource Center’s (DRC) mission is to promote full access for students with disabilities. We envision a universally inclusive and welcoming community where accessibility is central in the design of the campus environment and academics.

Division of Access, Opportunity and Success

The Division of Access, Opportunity and Success works to provide access and opportunity to a diverse population by infusing its core principles into institutional decision making, processes and initiatives. Partnering across academic and administrative units, AOS leverages collective expertise to promote access and success and foster a campus environment that contributes to the enhancement of teaching, research and service at MSU.

Emergency Management

The Office of Emergency Management is dedicated to ensuring the safety and resilience of the university community. OEM develops and implements comprehensive plans, procedures, and training to effectively prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impact of emergencies and disasters.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Mississippi State has 37 fraternity and sorority chapters. Membership in a fraternity or sorority provides opportunities to build relationships and support networks with past and present Bulldogs.

Holmes Cultural Diversity Center

The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center strives to provide a “home away from home” for students by cultivating a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports traditionally marginalized student populations. It houses many student organizations, such as the Black Student Association, Indigenous Students and Allies Association and Latin Student Association.

Honor Code

Our office is here to help students be successful in their academics and leadership involvement. It is the mission of the Student Honor Code Office to support the mission of Student Affairs by coordinating efforts to promote academic integrity as well as reduce academic misconduct.

Housing & Residence Life

Mississippi State University has 16 residence halls across campus. MSU’s halls feature nine new construction halls that offer a private bathroom in each room and seven traditional-style halls with shared bathroom space. College View is an off-campus apartment with one-, two- and four-bedroom units each with private bathrooms.

Longest Student Health Center

The Longest Student Health Center offers free clinic visits for all students and a wide variety of other services and tests that can be billed to your insurance or student account. The LSHC houses an on-campus outpatient pharmacy where prescriptions can be filled or over-the-counter medications can be purchased.

MSU Bookstore

The MSU bookstore is your one-stop destination for all your academic and campus needs. Whether you’re looking to rent or buy textbooks, grab the latest university apparel, or pick up essential supplies, we’ve got you covered.

Office for Student Well-Being

The Office for Student Well-Being provides students with experiences that lead to holistic lifelong well-being. It has many programs to help students live healthy lives, such as Bulldogs in Recovery and Healthy Dawgs. It also provides programs for students with children, private mothering room locations across campus, sexual health education and programs for sexual assault and violence prevention. Students can receive free one-on-one nutrition counseling with an on-campus registered dietician can give students or attend the Food Freedom Support Group.

Office of Civil Rights Compliance

The Office of Civil Rights Compliance investigates and remediates possible violations, makes policy and advises on civil rights matters and trains on civil rights matters to ensure Mississippi State University is a fair and welcoming place for all students, staff and guests. Students who need to report sexual misconduct, harassment or discrimination or request an accommodation can do so through the Office of Civil Rights Compliance.

Office of Survivor Support

Office of Survivor Support offers confidential support and services for students who have experienced sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, stalking, dating/ domestic violence and other crimes. OSS provides individual therapy, medical advocacy, university advocacy, academic advocacy and court advocacy.

Parent & Family Services

PFS offers services and opportunities for families to connect with campus officials, campus resources, and other MSU families. We are completely committed to creating a partnership with you and we hope this partnership will provide you with the resources necessary to assist your student find success at MSU.

Planning & Assessment

The Office of Planning & Assessment aims to inspire a culture of planning and assessment at the department and program levels in an effort to positively impact student success.

Student Conduct

The Office of Student Conduct at Mississippi State University promotes responsibility and standards of conduct through a fair, objective process aligned with core values of fairness, honesty, and integrity. Committed to fostering a safe and healthy campus community, the office administers the Code of Student Conduct, provides guidance on student rights and policies, adjudicates misconduct cases, and offers outreach to uphold civility and personal responsibility.

Student Counseling Services

Student Counseling Services offers confidential individual and group counseling sessions that are free for eligible students. In addition to group counseling, they offer several support groups that are tailored to unique populations of students. Student Counseling Services also provides prerecorded telehealth workshops to help students learn new skills.

Student Financial Aid

The financial aid office helps students navigate the various types of financial aid funding they are eligible for and can receive. Their financial counselors can help students prepare and create a plan to pay for college through scholarships, loans and other types of financial aid.

Student Leadership & Community Engagement

Student Leadership and Community Engagement offers students a place to get connected and give back to the community. The Maroon Volunteer Center matches volunteers with community partners to create meaningful service opportunities. It also houses the Day One Leadership Program and the Montgomery Leadership Program.

Student Money Management Center

The Student Money Management Center offers resources and mentorship opportunities to educate students on how to be financially successful in college. The Money Mentors program connects students with student mentors for one-on-one meetings to answer financial questions, create a budget, help reach financial goals and more.

Telus Health Student Support App

The Telus Health app gives students free confidential mental health and well-being support 24/7. Students can call or chat with a licensed professional counselor anytime or anywhere.

University Police

Mississippi State University’s Police Department is a full-service agency that is available 24 hours a day and works toward providing a safer environment through programs and services. UPD provides MSU with patrol officers, event security, criminal investigators and dispatchers.

University Recreation

University Recreation provides recreation programs, services and facilities that encourage the development of a healthy lifestyle. Full-time students get a free membership to the Joe Frank Sanderson Center, which offers a wide variety of activities, such as basketball, volleyball, weight lifting, jogging, swimming, pickleball, racquetball and rock climbing. Students can also take free group classes, including yoga, spin, pilates, kickboxing and barre. URec also provides team competition opportunities with numerous intramural leagues and club sports teams.
