Center for America’s Veterans provides military-connected students with support, educational benefits, and activities to promote learning and success while at Mississippi State University. It offers military-connected students scholarships and other benefits to help them achieve their academic goals and provide them the opportunity to enhance their lives by obtaining a degree through MSU. The center, located in Nusz Hall, provides military-connected students individual study rooms, a computer lab, a lounge and many programming events.
Army ROTC provides students the opportunity to get a college education while training them to become an Army officer. The basic program is an elective course that only requires students to be full-time and a legal U.S. citizen. The advanced program is for third- and fourth-year students and stresses the military skills and knowledge required of commissioned officers. They also offer a simultaneous membership program that allows students to be both in the Guard and ROTC qualifying them for additional training, incentives, and benefits.
Students in Air Force ROTC have the opportunity to earn a commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force while earning a college degree. With the Columbus AFB nearby, each year the cadets get to meet officers and receive hands-on opportunities with simulators and demonstrations.
