2024 Student Experience Expo

Mississippi State University’s Division of Student Affairs and Division of Access, Opportunity and Success (AOS) recently hosted the first Student Experience Expo.

The Student Experience Expo sought to spark collaboration between the divisions and MSU’s outstanding faculty and researchers.

Held at the Bost Conference Center, the come-and-go event provided an opportunity to explore new partnerships between the two divisions and faculty and researchers in a joint effort to enhance the Bulldog Experience.

“We were delighted with the participation in our inaugural Student Experience Expo,” said Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt. “The opportunity to bring together our faculty and research partners with the student-facing departments in the Divisions of Student Affairs and Access, Opportunity, and Success means increased collaboration across MSU in support of the Bulldog Experience. More than bringing about more opportunities for student engagement, the Expo has opened doors to new possibilities in research endeavors, service-learning activities and the improvement of the student experience. We look forward to building on the success of the Expo and have begun planning for next year’s event already.”

Attendees enjoyed learning about the experiential learning opportunities available to MSU students in their academic colleges through the departments within Student Affairs and AOS.

Departments displayed a wide range of opportunities, including internships, practicum placements, service-learning projects, and mentorships, all designed to prepare students for life beyond their college years.

"I am excited that we were able to work with Student Affairs to host the inaugural Student Experience Expo,” said Vice President for AOS Ra’Sheda Forbes. “The opportunity for our divisions to partner with our excellent faculty and researchers to create meaningful learning opportunities only enriches the learning experience for students and maximizes the talent and expertise that exist within our campus community. People walked away with exciting and tangible collaborations, and I look forward to seeing the implementation."

The event showed MSU’s commitment to a holistic approach to student development in which co-curricular experiences can support learning and prepare students for future careers and personal growth.
