Women on Weights

Meet in the upstairs weight circuit area - All you have to do is show up!
Women on Weights – Is a FREE program for any member of the Sanderson Center taught by a nationally certified personal trainer, this is an EXCITING female-only fitness class that focuses on YOUR needs! This class will help you gain strength without the bulk in a non-threatening environment. Our certified fitness staff will assess your weight, body fat, and a circumference measurement prior to your first class and after the last class is completed.
About These Classes:
This women only class will educate women on the purpose and importance of strength training. We will cover proper strength training techniques, correct body alignment and various formats for resistance training programs. Each lifter receives her own workout plan, a packet filled with information and tips on weight loss, the importance of resistance training and personalized instruction on basic to advanced strength training exercises.
Program Goals
• To ensure the time and energy of participants result in permanent health and fitness changes.
• To design personalized exercise programs for women with similar goals.
• To educate women on the safe and proper use of various training methods: machines, free weights, bands, balls and other accessories.
• To educate women on the fundamental health benefits of strength training.

State and regional minority students are invited to spend a day on the Mississippi State campus with other minority scholars and their parents. Students will have the opportunity to visit with academic advisers, tour the campus and check out residence halls. This is an invitation only event, and invitations will mail in October 2009.
